To fully appreciate each coffee. Each coffee provides a different and unique taste journey. We want you to enjoy this coffee the way you would appreciate a good glass of wine, with specific beans offering their own complex combinations of flavours depending on the environment of the source plant and harvest technique. Try our coffee black and at a temperature of 50 to 60 Celsius. This temperature allows our flavour receptors to pick up those intricate and subtle notes. As you take your first mouthful you should expect the initial taste on the tip of your tongue which becomes smooth and full as it settles towards the back-taste buds (these are best at identifying the individual flavours). The flavour remains on your tongue for longer than regular coffee. After that you can add milk and sugar to your preference!
Why Medium Roast? As you look through our coffee shop, you will notice we only offer medium roast (or green for our home roasters). This is because medium roasted coffee preserves the unique flavours of the bean as with lighter roast but also provides the well-rounded, balanced aroma and acidity we get from a longer roast time. Medium roast times reach into the deep caramel sweetness but avoid going past the point of caramelisation/carbonising the coffee that we see with Darker or French roasts.
