Darren Barry

Born in Bristol, Darren Barry moved to Morpeth, Northumberland in 2019 with his partner and their sidekick Monty the Cockerpoo. Darren is first and foremost a dog walking enthusiast and lover of the outdoors!

He is also a professional rugby player. When we met him, Darren played at Newcastle Falcons and boasted a very impressive professional career including playing at national level on the U19 England squad. He is currently taking his Caribe Coffee abroad with him to France where he plays for Rugby Club Vannee. Despite the distance, we are very happy to keep him as to a member of our Caribe Coffee family.

As an ambassador, Darren posts great pictures of his morning coffees but more importantly he is a big advocate of supporting the local area and independent businesses, whether that's Northumberland or Vannes! Monty the dog is often the centre of his photos which only serve to make us love the photos even more!

You can find him on Instagram @Darren.Barry1.

About Northumberland’s visit spots, Darren says “We couldn’t choose an out and out favourite. We enjoy taking Monty out for walks on the amazing beaches Northumberland has; our favourites being Newton-by-the-sea and Beadnell, but can often be found at Druridge, Boulmer, Craster and Bamburgh. Always nice to pop into the Joiner’s Arms for a roast at Newton and some crab and chips at the Bait at Beadnell. If the tides are in then we enjoy a good walk through the woods at Thrunton, or the hills at Simonside, Rothbury.”

Darren’s favourite Caribe Coffee Co. coffee is the Microlot Jaguar and says; “I love how sweet it is, but not bitter”, he drinks his coffee as an americano or espresso, black no sugar so that he can really taste the coffee. Now in France, he says "our favourite boulangerie is in the small town of Séné, where you will find me queuing up outside on my days/ mornings off - accompanied by a Caribe Coffee".
